Job Description
EdPlus at ASU seeks a highly motivated, energetic, and articulate Financial Intake Specialist to join our high-performing team in the Success Coaching Center. The Financial Intake Specialist works in a high-paced environment and conducts student outreach via phone, email, and SMS to assist with the completion of necessary financial aid documents. The Financial Intake Specialist also answers financial aid questions for students and internal customers while working to resolve any financial obstacle hindering a student’s academic progress.

Essential Duties
- Collects and reviews financial aid documents for completeness, accuracy, and consistency of data from FAFSA, federal tax returns, financial aid transcripts, and other verification documents.
- Requests additional information of incomplete or inconsistent applications.
- Answers questions, inquiries, or requests of students and staff, regarding financial aid eligibility and awards.
- Works as a liaison between staff and students to ensure optimal student experience and processing times.
- Serves as part of a support team for online students.
- Manages outbound call/text/email campaigns, as instructed by lead to ensure financial aid file completion.
- Proactive partnership with FASS team to escalate students requiring tier 2 assistance.
- Follow up on document/student action requests as directed by lead to ensure accurate timely receipt of financial aid information.
- Assumes or coordinates other duties or projects as assigned or directed.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, Humanities or related field and four years’ experience in student counseling, financial aid awarding or working with financial aid programs; OR, eight years of directly related experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Desired Qualifications
- Evidence of a bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
- Experience in customer service.
- Experience in supporting students from diverse backgrounds via, telephone, email and chat.
- Experience in customer relationship management systems – Salesforce.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Demonstrated knowledge of financial aid policies and procedures.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrated knowledge of government rules, regulations, guidelines, and procedures related to financial aid.
Working Environment
- EdPlus at ASU is located at SkySong, the ASU Scottsdale Innovation Center. The center houses a diverse business community that links technology, research, education, and entrepreneurship to position ASU and Greater Phoenix as global leaders in the knowledge economy.
- Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate-controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting or standing. Daily use of desktop or laptop computer is required. Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential duties. Regular review of completed tasks.
