Job Description

This role will focus on the Trusted Learner Network, which is committed to improving credit mobility, reducing friction, and shepherding a cross-institutional, cross-industry effort to revolutionize digital credentials in the higher education space.

Essential Duties

As an Associate Product Manager, you will:

  • Promote an inclusive, human-centered product culture; listen to end users and proactively seek to understand their problems and desired outcomes.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, data scientists, researchers, and business analysts to discover and deliver solutions that achieve desired outcomes, align on priorities, and influence product and organizational decisions and direction. 
  • Create a collaborative and engaging environment with cross-functional partners to keep teams focused on customer value and impactful outcomes. Communicate priorities, work details, progress, and impact through existing tools and evolving product artifacts.
  • Define, guide, and communicate product vision and strategy with stakeholders. 
  • Synthesize information in a way that informs and inspires decision making and strategic direction through well-communicated, actionable objectives.
  • Leverage and grow your expertise of how your product works, how the business works, and the constraints we operate under to aid in decision making. Understand product team roles and advocate for team resources based on what is needed to achieve outcomes of work effort.
  • Provide value to the people your product is intended for through usable, feasible, and ethical solutions that work well for the university.
  • Grow and use your domain knowledge to help foster the learning and growth of the Enterprise Technology community. Seek ways to continuously learn and improve your craft.
You may also: Help manage vendor and partner relationships and contracts.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related field and one (1) year experience in product management; OR three (3) years experience in product management; OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

  • Experience with Distributed Ledger Technologies, graph databases, and data mapping–or a willingness and strong desire to learn more.

  • Knowledge of the digital credential ecosystem and associated emerging technologies.
  • Experience with credentialing, Registrar, or Admissions processes is a significant plus.
  • Ability to help foster a safe psychological space for all teammates where everyone can thrive.
  • Ability to stimulate changes in individual, institutional, and corporate behaviors to create a more sustainable environment.
  • Ability to lead by example in communicating, participating and encouraging support of the institution’s sustainability programs.
