EdPlus at ASU is a dynamic unit of Arizona State University focused on the design and scalable delivery of digital teaching and learning models to increase student success and reduce barriers to achievement in higher education. We advance the economic, social, cultural, and overall health of the local, national, and international communities served by ASU.

We’re seeking a driven, people-oriented Senior Success Coach to support both graduate and undergraduate students. The Senior Success Coach partners with students in thoughtful and creative ways that guide and motivate them to reach their full potential. Through quality conversation and meaningful exploration, the coach will build and maintain positive and collaborative relationships with a focus on goal setting, overcoming obstacles, and achieving success, while adhering to established guidelines. This role contributes regularly and constructively in team meetings, manages their caseload systematically, prioritizes not only their own needs, but those of their teammates, and steps in to assist as needed. The Senior Success Coach is consistently involved in advancing the Success Center’s priorities. 

Essential Duties:

  • Engages in proactive outreach to empower students through positive reinforcement, building rapport, and establishing meaningful academic relationships.
  • Coaches’ students in developing a plan to achieve their academic and career goals.
  • Provides high-quality student-centered support using text, social media, email, phone, and chat of a significant volume in a fast-paced environment.
  • Works to build student knowledge, skills, attitudes, and beliefs that support success.
  • Works collaboratively with internal and external partners and promotes the discovery process for solving problems.
  • Invests in students’ success and reflects commitment by answering phone calls, responding to voice or emails messages, texts, or chat within the same business day.
  • Monitors student engagement via dashboards and implements interventions as prescribed.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for ASU Online students as they progress through their degree program. 
  • Utilize resources and critical thinking skills to problem solve, quickly make decisions, and provide the best experience to ASU Online students. 
  • Take a proactive approach through challenging the status quo by recommending new and innovative procedures with student success in mind.
  • Provides guidance, mentorship, and training for new coaches.
  • Consistently and reliably meets or exceeds established performance metrics.
  • Adapts easily to change and leads peers in making necessary changes.
  • Senior Success Coaches are expected to be role models and mentors on their team and for the Success Center overall.
  • Assumes or coordinates other duties or projects as assigned or directed.


Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree AND two (2) years previous experience in one or more of the following: advising, student recruitment/retention or related student services utilizing a proactive and innovative approach which results in demonstrated outcomes in retention, graduation, and academic planning, including one (1) year of success coaching experience within the EdPlus Success Coaching Center.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Evidence of a bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.
  • Experience with EdPlus at ASU Success Coaching Center policies and procedures.
  • Experience with problem resolution.
  • Evidence of strong critical thinking skills.
  • Evidence of effective, professional, and persuasive communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by example.
  • Demonstrated ability to stimulate and embrace change and gain enthusiasm and cooperation of others.
  • Evidence of strong peer mentorship skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly build positive and collaborative relationships and connect with others.
  • Consistently meets or exceeds Quality Assurance competencies measured by lead.
  • Evidence of ability to embrace and quickly implement feedback.

Working Environment

EdPlus at ASU is located at SkySong, the ASU Scottsdale Innovation Center. The center houses a diverse business community that links technology, research, education, and entrepreneurship to position ASU and Greater Phoenix as global leaders in the knowledge economy.

Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate-controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting or standing. Daily use of desktop or laptop computer is required. Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential duties. Regular review of completed tasks.

EdPlus at ASU supports flexible work options, ranging from alternate work schedules to hybrid remote work schedules, subject to approvals per ASU policy.
