Job Description

The Polytechnic School (TPS) in the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at the Polytechnic campus in Mesa, AZ is seeking a self-starting, collaborative and detail-oriented team member to join its curriculum planning and analysis team. Under general supervision, this individual will assist with class scheduling and data reporting processes for TPS in accordance with the priorities set by the Office of the Provost.

This position is an on-campus position but may offer an option for a flexible work schedule, in accordance with university policy. More details can be provided during the interview, if selected.

Essential Duties

  • Under direct supervision, complete all assigned class schedule updates and changes.

  • Maintain course schedule and room schedules in university systems.

  • Maintain knowledge of structure and location of various data sources to assist in creation of queries and applications utilizing that data, including weekly enrollment and recruitment data reports for all programs in The Polytechnic School and phone data reports.

  • Assist with data management within PeopleSoft to support course and faculty needs forecasting.

  • Provide on-going training to users in assigned units by way of email, phone or in-person sessions.

  • Maintain knowledge of the university scheduling process, including class logistics.

  • Serve as roster contact for The Polytechnic School.

  • Create and maintain documentation for processes and projects.

  • Plan and prioritize workload to meet set deadlines.

  • Develops work plans in accordance with established unit and program objectives and funding limitations.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues submitted.

  • Maintains collaborative rapport with appropriate departments, centers and units.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND three (3) years of related experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working in higher education or a related field.

  • Experience in developing and maintaining productive working relationships.

  • Evidence of strategic thinking and being a self-starter.

  • Experience in problem-solving, applying critical thinking, and implementing time management skills.

  • Experience using class scheduling systems at Arizona State University.

  • Experience running reports using various software applications.

Working Environment

  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse.

  • Work both independently and within a complex structured team.

  • Ability to regularly change priorities to accomplish tasks with frequent interruptions.

  • Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
