The Arizona State University’s College of Health Solutions’ (CHS) Speech and Hearing Science (SHS) undergraduate and master’s programs seek part-time Faculty Associates and Academic Associates to teach courses, or provide instructional-related support, and provide clinical education for the Summer 2024 and Fall 2024 semesters for both in-person and on-line learning experiences courses. Through coursework, clinical education, and research opportunities, our degree programs in SHS provide students with a well-rounded understanding of all aspects of human communication.

These positions are part-time, non-benefits eligible, semester to semester contracts based on the dates of the sessions/courses assigned. Subsequent semester assignments may be offered at the discretion of the college and university based on teaching performance, student course evaluations, and course availability and enrollment.

Responsibilities for the faculty associate positions include course instruction, syllabus preparation, undergraduate TA hiring, grading, office hours provision, development of clinical experiences, clinical supervision, and clinical documentation editing.

About the College of Health Solutions

The College of Health Solutions is committed to translating scientific health research and discovery into practice to improve health outcomes through education, research, and service. We equip students with the knowledge and skills to influence healthier lifestyle choices; develop creative interventions to improve the health of people and populations; analyze and translate large amounts of health data into solutions; and maximize the technology, science, business, and application of diagnostics. Qualifications

Faculty Associate Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in speech pathology or audiology
  • Professional experience in speech pathology or audiology
  • Demonstrated ability to work, collaborate, and communicate effectively with diverse students, colleagues, and staff in a multicultural environment
  • Active clinical license if providing supervision in Speech and Hearing Clinic

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience teaching collegiate courses
  • Experience using online learning platforms for course instruction
  • Experience managing course(s) at the undergraduate or graduate level, including development of course content, lectures, assessments
  • Experience using electronic medical record database

Academic Associate Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field
  • Experience supporting course instruction such as grading
  • Demonstrated ability to work, collaborate, and communicate effectively with diverse students, colleagues, and staff in a multicultural environment

Desired Qualifications

  • Teaching assistant experience at the undergraduate or graduate levels
  • Student mentoring experience
  • Experience managing course(s) at the undergraduate or graduate level, including development of course content, lectures, assessments
