Job Description

ASU 365 Community Union is seeking a marketing professional to provide social media management, coordinate promotional efforts and marketing functions in support of the overall strategic goals of the department. ASU 365 Community Union manages non-athletic events and event space inside Sun Devil Stadium, Desert Financial Arena, and ASU Desert Arboretum Park. This position reports to the Marketing Manager of ASU 365 Community Union within ASU Cultural Affairs. This is a full-time salaried position that also works nights and/or weekends as needed.

Essential Duties

  • Develop and execute 365 Community Union social media strategies, policies and procedures.
  • Plan and maintain social media content calendars and reports.
  • Regularly attend special events to collect content for online publishing.
  • Edit short form video and photo content for online publishing.
  • Build and nurture relationships with digital audiences/influencers.
  • Plan, design and place social media advertising.
  • Plan and coordinate promotional campaigns, grassroots campaigns and campus activations for 365 Community Union events and programs.
  • Develop and tailor media messaging kits for stakeholder promotion.
  • Work with vendors to acquire quotes and samples for production of materials.
  • Assist with copywriting, copyediting and functional graphic design as needed for email and web support.
  • Ensure all related materials being distributed from department meet ASU Brand Standards.
  • Actively participate in the development of new ideas or improvements in process workflow and procedures.
  • Run errands, which may require driving a 7-passenger van and/or electric golf cart.
  • Develop a personal code of conduct to help ensure our work environment is welcoming, equitable and supports our department mission and core values along with the ASU Charter.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND three (3) years of related experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Desired Qualifications

  • Evidence of effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with writing and editing social media marketing content
  • Experience with managing social media; demonstrated knowledge of social media technologies in an enterprise environment, not limited to Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn and YouTube
  • Experience with social media listening, reporting and analysis
  • Experience with Canva or Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Google Drive and Dropbox at a high proficiency level

Working Environment

  • Activities are mainly performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work
  • Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts
  • Availability to work events and attend meetings outside of regular business hours including some nights and weekends
  • Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions
  • Ability to proofread documents and verifies facts
  • Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to drive on university business and possess a valid US driver license upon employment
