Job Description

The primary role of this position is to manage high-volume event planning for employer and student events, ensuring a seamless experience for all stakeholders. Key responsibilities include overseeing the employer request intake process, developing and implementing programs, and organizing event logistics. The role also involves researching and sourcing potential panelists and speakers, creating and sharing templates and resources, and managing a comprehensive event calendar. Additionally, the position requires posting events to relevant platforms, assisting with website and marketing efforts, and maintaining directories of key contacts.

Supervisory duties include monitoring activities and delegating tasks, conducting needs assessments, preparing budget proposals, controlling expenditures, and seeking funding opportunities. The position also involves advising staff and students, preparing reports on program activities, evaluating program effectiveness, recruiting participants, and developing promotional literature. Facilitating high-impact workshops, meetings, or conferences and liaising with internal and external stakeholders to achieve program objectives are also essential responsibilities.

Essential Duties

  • Manage high-volume event planning for employer and student events.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND five (5) years of related experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

  • Evidence of a graduate degree in related area
  • Experience in college employer relations, and business development, talent management, or professional recruiting
  • Demonstrated knowledge of issues pertaining to area of assignment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in budget preparation and accounting principles.
  • Experience with critical thinking & problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of supervisory practices and principles.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications and database management systems.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of specific applications such as: Outlook, PowerPoint, Google Drive, SalesForce, Handshake.

  • Sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Work collaboratively across various departments within the University as well as with diverse populations and groups
  • Use computers effectively – including inputting, reviewing and retrieving information, extended periods of viewing screen and using mouse and keyboard

  • Climb stairs in locations with no elevator, such as with the mezzanine level of the MU, or Irish Hall
