Job Description

As part of ET, the Technical Web Project Coordinator will play a critical role in the successful implementation and rollout of accessibility and domain discovery tools and standards for our institution. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, managing timelines, ensuring compliance with web standards, WCAG 2.1 requirements, and providing technical support to ensure a seamless integration. This role will report to the Director of Web & User Experience.

Essential Duties

  • Participate in service and process design to establish institutional workflows.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all accessibility and domain discovery tools-related inquiries and communications.
  • Prepare and distribute project status reports to key customers, users and stakeholders from different departments and units around the university.
  • Coordinate with internal and external departments, including IT, marketing, and communications, to ensure all service and project and service requirements are met.
  • Ensure the proper configuration of accessibility and domain discovery tools to align with institutional needs and standards.
  • Coordinate and help develop training materials and conduct training sessions for end-users on how to effectively use the accessibility and domain discovery tools.
  • Utilize the accessibility and domain discovery tool to help audit web properties for accessibility, standards and compliance and collaborate with content creators to implement recommended improvements and ensure continuous compliance.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and liaise with vendor providers to provide support to resolve them promptly.
  • Analyze the data results from the accessibility and domain discovery tools, to identify trends, areas for improvement, and success metrics.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams and contribute to broader web and digital initiatives within the institution.
  • Work closely with the director of web and user experience, to implement service processes, procedures and other related service and project duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

BA/BS Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Marketing or related field AND 3 years product/program management, project management, management consulting OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Desired Qualifications

  • The successful candidate will be a self-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving and project management or service management skills.
  • Proven experience in web project coordination or management, preferably within a higher education environment.
  • Strong technical skills and familiarity with web technologies, content management systems, and web standards.
  • Experience with accessibility standards (WCAG) and web governance tools is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Web Design and Development as normally obtained through education or experience in technology and how it supports the products and services are a plus.
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, and techniques of project management.
  • Skill in developing business cases and writing logical, detailed and complete requirements/functional specifications.
  • Ability to develop and manage strategic partnerships.
  • Ability to communicate well with others and perform work in a team environment.
  • Ability to collaborate and reach consensus in a high paced environment.
  • Ability to stimulate changes in individual, institutional, and corporate behaviors to create a more sustainable environment.
  • Ability to lead by example in communicating, participating and encouraging support of the institution’s sustainability programs.

Working Environment

  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse (75%); required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work (10%).
  • Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds (15%).
  • Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
  • Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
