Job Description
Under managerial supervision, participates, supports and prepares data analysis and reporting for business decision-making, strategic planning, and process improvement using various methods and techniques to support Access ASU’s Arizona Meta Network, a grant funded through the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Essential Duties
- Serves as the dedicated Data Analysis Specialist for the Arizona Meta Network, ensuring high-quality data management and analysis.
- Collects, cleanses, standardizes, transforms, and stores data from various sources while ensuring data integrity and consistent 1st-party data collection following established data-layer standards and user consent preferences.
- Conducts research analysis to assess current performance, identify trends, and recommend improvements for future projects.
- Utilizes predictive modeling, statistics, trend analysis, and other techniques to analyze relevant data from internal and external sources.
- Works closely with cross-functional teams to extract valuable data from analytics platforms, identify trends, define key performance indicators (KPIs), develop measurement strategies to track marketing and business goals, and drive data-driven decision-making.
- Designs customized reports, dashboards, and data visualization solutions to effectively communicate insights and findings to stakeholders.
- Creates and maintains statistical reporting tools, regularly auditing data input, organization practices, and stakeholder feedback.
- Prepares reports, analyzes and interprets statistics, financial data, and management planning data to predict resource needs and develop long-range plans.
- Prepares presentations for stakeholders and university administration, supports and updates data dashboards and represents the unit at various convenings.
- Communicates complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences. Effectively collaborates with school staff, administrators, and other stakeholders, assisting with developing long—and short-range goals.
- Develops and creates data documents for decision-makers, assisting with developing long and short-range goals.
- Stays updated on trends in data collection, organization, preservation, and analysis through professional activities and research contributions.
- Utilizes various computer programs and software for data computation, statistical analysis, and data manipulation.
- Completes and executes data submissions for Meta Network as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment and three (3) years of data management and/or data reporting experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Desired Qualifications
- Evidence of a Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Math, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrated knowledge of statistics and data science concepts, methodologies, tools, and current trends (e.g., Python, R, SQL, SPSS, machine learning, and data visualization).
- Experience with data visualization software (e.g., Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI, Google Data Studio) is a plus.
- Ability to mentor Data Analysts - Management Interns and student workers, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Proficiency or keen interest in using CRM tools, such as Salesforce.
- Knowledge or strong interest in K-12 and higher education data.
Working Environment
- Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.
- Occasional bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds.
- Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
- Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
- Work location is in person at the assigned ASU location in Tempe, AZ.
