Job Description

Thunderbird School of Global Management Recruitment and Admissions team within the larger Thunderbird Student Success team, is seeking a focused and detailed oriented individual who can work in a fast paced, high volume environment. The Admissions Coordinator at Thunderbird will be responsible for ensuring that all Thunderbird custom program applications and materials are appropriately processed, as well as assist the Admissions Coordinator, Sr. with materials for full-time degrees. This position will work in collaboration with ASU Enrollment Services and teams to ensure that all admission documents are processed timely and accurately.

Essential Duties

  • Evaluates, certifies and processes credentials for students applying for graduate studies admittance and/or graduation; ensures authenticity of documents and that requirements have been met using established admission and graduation policies and guidelines.
  • Reviews and verifies domestic and international student transcripts, resume, and English scores received Assists Admissions Coordinator, Sr. in interview connections as per application process.
  • Responds to inquiries from students, departments or general public by telephone or in person regarding application status or related department procedures; provides information as requested.
  • Maintains digital student files by entering updates and/or deleting records as required; enters information in student files.
  • Performs various clerical functions in order to maintain files, process paperwork, prepare reports and fulfill information requests.
  • Utilizes PeopleSoft and ASU online information systems to monitor and accurately inform prospective students.
  • Utilizes Salesforce to record phone interactions, correspondence, visits, monitoring and follow up of prospective student information in a timely manner.
  • Reports to Thunderbird Recruitment and Admissions Associate Director, Admissions and Operations and supports Senior Director on key initiatives.
  • Serves as department liaison to colleagues of the Academic Programs team to ensure custom program clients are receiving top-tier service.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND three (3) years of related experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

  • Knowledge of admissions and/or graduation procedures.
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
  • Evidence of effective communication skills.
  • Experience in work that requires attention to detail.
  • Experience in time management and strategic planning abilities to effectively execute job duties.
  • Experience in using Microsoft Office software like Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.

Working Environment

  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse.
  • Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.
  • Bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds.
  • Regular activities require the ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
  • Clearly communicate to perform essential functions of the job.
  • Regular use of standard office equipment including, but not limited to computer workstation/laptop (keyboard, monitor, mouse), printer, fax, calculator, copier, telephone, and associated computer/technology peripherals.
  • This position receives an annual managerial review of objectives.
