This position is based on-campus at ASU’s Downtown Campus. Scheduled hours are Monday through Friday, the team is currently offering flexible work arrangements in a hybrid structure*.
*Hybrid structure: Employees may work 100% at their primary assigned location or on a hybrid schedule where at least 80% of their time is at their primary assigned location, after a six-month probation period.

Essential Duties
- Ensure accounting transactions are correctly tagged, coded and audit ready.
- Prepare annual budgets, forecast updates, input budgets into the central university budgeting system, run reports and track expenditures.
- Issue requisitions to encumber funds, track college events, ensure timely payment and accuracy of invoices billed.
- Prepare journal entries and other accounting transfer documents for revenue, expenditure and budget adjustments.
- Review monthly purchasing card statements centralized in the college business office for audit readiness and transactional flow.
- Manage and update chart of accounts and gift funds.
- Process and manage accounts payable and receivable.
- Prepare and/or assist in preparation, reporting and analysis of operational budgets.
- Provide specialized or general calculations and analysis support in various accounting functions; prepare specialized or complex reports, statements, analysis and interpretation utilizing advanced knowledge and proficiency in accounting practices and principles.
- Prepare reports and assist in analyzing various revenue and expense budgets.
- Prepare or review detailed journal entries, maintain complex ledgers and reconciles and analyzes reports.
- Make recommendations regarding changes to rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Manage travel requests and expense report reconciliations for various departments.
- Perform other duties as assigned .
Minimum Qualifications

- Experience working with an ASU academic unit.
- Evidence of effective communication skills.
- Experience in using a computerized or enterprise financial system (e.g. Workday, Advantage, SunRise, Excel, Concur).
- Experience in using online dashboards.
- Experience in multi-tasking and proven ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Experience in collaborating across department functions.
- Knowledge of accounting, budgeting, and reporting procedures and techniques.
- Experience in performing detailed numerical computations.
- Experience in preparing detailed reports on a timely basis.
- Experience working with donor funds and gift foundation accounts.
Working Environment
- Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse.
- Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.
- Occasional bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds.
- Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
- Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
- Drives University vehicle and/or cart to campus site.
