The McCain Institute at Arizona State University seeks a full-time Program Coordinator to support its Human Rights & Freedom (HRF) Program. Working closely with and reporting to the HRF Program Director, the Program Coordinator will provide administrative and programmatic support to all initiatives within the HRF portfolio.
The HRF Program works to protect and advance individual human rights and freedom around the world by working with American policymakers and other strategic partners to spur bold action to prevent violations from occurring and to hold perpetrators accountable.
This position is based in Washington, DC, and is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.

Essential Duties
- Organize internal and external meetings, including managing logistics, drafting and distributing agendas, sending and tracking invitations and RSVPs and logistics, and preparing notes and other materials as needed.
- Liaise with external partners including prosecutors, officials from the U.S. government and international institutions, anti-trafficking and human rights civil society organizations, policymakers, business leaders, and the HRF Program Advisory Council;
- Perform research and analysis on human rights and foreign policy topics, including human trafficking, to support program activities and policy advocacy;
- Draft and edit communications, including social media, blog posts, newsletters, and external correspondence;
- Manage reporting and reconciliation for program travel, purchasing, and other programmatic expenses, and support the HRF Director to build and track program budgets;
- Manage the program junior fellows, including interviewing applicants, being their main point of contact throughout the fellowship, and developing their work plans;
- Oversee the online Certificate on Human Trafficking Program, including coordinating with appropriate Arizona State University staff, reviewing and managing financial documents, and providing other support to participants as needed;
- Prepare briefing materials for internal and external meetings and other HRF program events;
- Coordinate team scheduling and travel;
- Maintain confidential administrative, financial, and programmatic records;
- Perform other duties as requested to meet HRF program needs.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in field appropriate to area of assignment AND two years administrative/coordinator program experience; OR, Six years of progressively responsible administrative/coordinator program experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

- Experience providing project and administrative support.
- Experience in using an acute eye for detail and organization skills.
- Experience in being a self-starter with a proven track record of taking initiative.
- Experience with tact and diplomacy and maintaining effective working relationships.
- Evidence of effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in multitasking and balancing numerous projects and deadlines and
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office software (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

- Climate-controlled office setting subject to extended periods of being in a stationary position.
