Job Description

This position is for a full time, in-person staff member who creates, measures and maintains digital content strategies in support of the ASU Alumni Association programs and events. This position researches and identifies trends in digital media, provides regular monitoring, and curates digital content to bring awareness and to increase attendance for Alumni Association programs and events. Assumes primary responsibility for ensuring strategic and on-brand digital messaging by drafting, editing, and disseminating copy for organic and paid media (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Google, etc.).

A successful candidate for this position is a creative communicator with great intuition, skilled in digital marketing and paid social strategy concepts with a global-mindset. Essential Duties

  • Content Creation:
    • Create high-quality, on-brand content for social media platforms, with content ranging from standalone posts and features to video reels, polls and contests.
    • Collaborate with design and content teams to produce visually appealing and effective marketing materials.
    • Creates and manages time-sensitive content that is effective and accurate.
    • Demonstrates an understanding of methods to engage audiences of varying demographics across channels.
    • Provide live social media coverage for events, including real-time updates, engagement, and post-event content.
  • Organic and Paid Campaigns:
    • Oversee and curate content for alumni social media channels, ensuring consistent and engaging communication with our community.
    • Design and execute organic marketing strategies to increase brand visibility and engagement.
    • Understand and utilize best practices for organizational and planning of multiple content sources.
    • Develop, implement, and manage paid digital marketing campaigns across various platforms including Google Ads, Facebook Ads, LinkedIn Ads, etc.
    • Monitor and optimize campaign performance to maximize ROI and achieve desired KPIs.
  • Website Updates:
    • Regularly update and maintain the website to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment with current marketing strategies.
    • Implement changes based on performance data and user feedback to enhance user experience and engagement.
  • Reporting & Analytics:
    • Generate and analyze reports on campaign performance, website traffic, social media engagement, and other key metrics.
    • Use insights to refine strategies and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
  • Strategic Planning:
    • Contribute to the development of digital marketing strategies that align with overall organizational goals and brand positioning.
    • Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to keep the organization’s digital marketing efforts innovative and effective.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with chapter volunteer network stakeholders to coordinate marketing efforts and ensure alignment with local and national initiatives.
    • Foster relationships with internal teams and external partners to support collaborative marketing projects and campaigns.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, Business, Digital Strategy, Communications or related field appropriate to the area of assignment and two (2) years of related experience in digital marketing, communications or business including experience with marketing project management and use of social media technologies: OR, or any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in lite graphic design and photo editing skills, including design work on Canva (or similar platform).

Working Environment

  • Applicant may need to be available as necessary outside of normal business hours for attendance of events to promote content online as necessary.
  • Activities are performed in an environmentally-controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse.
  • Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.
  • Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
  • Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
