Job Description
The Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering (FSE) at Arizona State University is seeking a Business Analyst with expertise in SQL, data analytics, product management, and relationship management. Under the direction of the Director of Data Analytics and Business Intelligence, the Business Analyst will be the bridge between the business/end-users and the technical resources on the data team. The Business Analyst will help translate business and stakeholder needs and requirements into technical details. They will be a Subject Matter Expert in various data domains by conducting deep dive research. The role will also contribute to the team by processing data pull requests, developing dashboards and reports, identifying team areas of opportunities, and managing projects through the internal backlog.

Essential Duties
- Conduct requirements gathering meetings with stakeholders and requestors to determine project requirements, logic, and parameters
- Work with management to prioritize business and information needs
- Collaborate with BI Data Developers and BI Data Analysts
- Effectively communicate insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical leaders and business customers/partners
- Communicate insights into team workflow process, system, and data
- Communicate limitations and restrictions due to system or data dependencies
- Monitor data team inbox, enter requests into the backlog, and organize projects for efficient review and solutioning
- Ensure QA of delivered products through data validation, testing, and peer reviews
- Conduct deep dive research on various data domains
- Provide team support by conducting data pulls, developing reports and dashboards, creating documentation, and facilitating training internally and externally
- Review processes and develop improvement strategies
- Monitor processes for consistency and effectiveness
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree AND two (2) years of experience in procedural, management or systems analysis work; OR, Six (6) years of experience in procedural, management, or systems analysis work; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/ or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Working Environment
- Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse.
- Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.
- Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds.
- Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
