ASU’s Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College (MLFTC) and the Division of Education Leadership & Innovation invites applications to establish a pool for Faculty Associates in the Environmental Education Program for the 2024-2025 academic year. Successful candidates will teach online courses (e.g., COE 501: Intro to Research and Evaluation in Education, EDU 593: Applied Project), prepare course materials, evaluate student work, and assist students. The Masters in Education program welcomes applications from candidates who align with ASU’s charter and are committed to inclusive excellence and student success. The successful candidate will also advance ASU’s Design Aspirations through teaching and service.

Faculty Associate positions are one semester (7.5 or 15 weeks), non-benefits-eligible, and fixed-term appointments with no tenure implications, not to exceed .40 FTE. The number of courses is contingent upon needs, funding, and sufficient enrollment. Individuals hired as Faculty Associates may not hold multiple, non-benefits-eligible appointments at Arizona State University. Salary is based upon qualifications and assigned teaching load.
This recruitment is to establish a part-time hiring pool for temporary and semester appointments. Applications are considered for the current year only. Applicants who are not hired are encouraged to reapply for the next posting.
This position serves as a lead instructor and includes teaching online, grading, providing feedback on student writing assignments (research proposal paper drafts, reading reflections, peer posts, etc.) managing the course’s Canvas (learning management system) page, and establishing warm and supportive relationships with students through class, office hours, emails, and meetings, as needed.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Doctoral Degree in Education or Education-related field at time of appointment
- At least one semester of experience teaching at the university-level post-secondary or other adult education setting
- Experience with research design or methodologies (e.g., basic qualitative, quantitative or mixed methods)
- Experience in writing and/or reviewing academic writing (e.g., research proposals, journal/conference manuscripts)
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with Action Research concepts, methods, and writing approaches
- Experience teaching research design and methodologies (e.g., basic qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods)
- At least one example of learning (e.g., coursework, professional development, trainings) in issues of equity (racial, dis/ability) in educational contexts
- At least one semester of experience using course management systems such as Canvas or Blackboard and digital tools like Zoom
- History of submitting and/or publishing research articles, conference papers, etc.
