Description

The Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law’s top-five rated Legal Method and Writing Program seeks three full-time Clinical Associate/Professors of Law at the rank of Associate/Full Instructional Professional starting in the 2025-2026 academic year. Both entry-level and experienced candidates are encouraged to apply.

The Legal Method and Writing Program is an integral part of the JD program at ASU Law. The program is designed to ensure practice-ready students who are well-equipped to succeed in their legal careers. The Legal Method and Writing Program includes two required first-year courses and a varied selection of upper-level elective legal writing courses. Clinical Associate/Professors of Law in the Legal Method and Writing Program are expected to teach analytical, research, writing, and oral communication skills, create assignments and courses, and engage in professional and service activities. Although legal scholarship is not a requirement of the positions, scholarship may be considered in the candidate’s favor under Faculty Bylaw I(C).

Legal Method and Writing Program positions offer a professional environment with job security that exceeds the requirements of ABA Standard 405(c and d). The positions are full-time, benefits-eligible, and offer support for professional development. An entry-level appointment would be as a probationary academic professional on track to continuing status under the rank of Associate Instructional Professional with the business title of Clinical Associate Professor of Law. An experienced candidate meeting the law college’s criteria for continuing status may be eligible for an appointment with continuing status under the business title of Clinical Professor of Law. Information about Academic Professionals at ASU, including status, rank, titles, and appointment categories, can be found at https://www.asu.edu/aad/manuals/acd/acd505-03.html.
