Description
Faculty Associate positions are one semester, non-benefits-eligible, fixed-term appointments with no tenure implications, not to exceed an average of .40 FTE per semester. The number of courses is contingent upon unit needs, funding, and sufficient enrollment. Salary is based on qualifications and assigned teaching load.

Essential Functions of the Position:
- Teach courses in relevant areas, in-person, online, hybrid, or a combination thereof
- Hold two weekly office hours to support students
- Prepare syllabus, with appropriate course goals and objectives, and lesson plans
- Evaluate and select course materials and other teaching materials
- Prepare, administer, and grade assignments
- Administer appropriate mid-term and/or final exams
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Applied Computing, Applied Mathematics, Business Administration (with an emphasis in area relevant to courses to be taught), Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, or related field at the time of hire
Desired Qualifications:
- Effective communication and organizational skills
- Experience in online instruction
- Record of teaching excellence
- Doctoral degree preferred
- Relevant Industry Experience
- Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with students from a wide variety of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, including first-generation college students
- Evidence of teaching excellence e.g., student evaluations, syllabi, peer observation, annual evaluations, etc.
