The Narrative and Emerging Media (NEM) Program at the Arizona State University’s California Center invites applications for Faculty Associates to teach in-person, graduate-level courses within the NEM program.
These positions are one semester appointments, part time, non-benefits eligible with no tenure implications. A typical Faculty Associate course load is one to two classes per semester at $4000 per credit. Teaching duties include: preparing course materials, responding to and evaluating student work, and availability for one-on-one assistance (via weekly office hours for on-campus classes and electronically for online classes).
The number of courses is contingent upon needs, funding, and sufficient enrollment. Individuals hired as Faculty Associates may not hold multiple, non-benefits-eligible appointments at Arizona State University. Salary is compensated at a rate of $4,000 per credit hour.
Anticipated start date is: Spring 2025, for Session B.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 4 years of industry experience or a Master’s degree in relevant field and 2 years of industry experience, by time of appointment
- Demonstrated evidence of commitment to teaching excellence
Desired qualifications:
- MFA or Ph.D. in relevant field by time of appointment
- Record of scholarly publication and/or evidence of professional development in relevant field
- Minimum of two years of post-secondary teaching experience
