Description
The School of Social and Behavioral Sciences is seeking full-time, benefits-eligible, non-tenure track Instructor in Psychology. The successful candidate may teach 10 courses per academic year (five courses per semester). This position may teach in-person, online, or a hybrid schedule. Instructors are pedagogical specialists who bear the primary responsibility for their assigned courses.

Successful candidates will demonstrate throughout their materials how their teaching, will contribute to the fulfillment of this charter.
Essential Functions of the Position:
- Teach courses in relevant areas, in-person, online, hybrid, or a combination thereof
- Hold office hours to support students
- Develop, maintain, and update engaging and accessible course materials as appropriate to the field and modality
- Evaluate student work
- Regularly monitor student progress
- Effectively teach, supervise, and mentor students, including coordinating the regular training and supervision of student teaching assistants
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in psychology or related field at the time of hire
Desired Qualifications:
- Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with students from a wide variety of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, including first-generation college students
- Experience with instruction at the post-secondary level by time of appointment
- Evidence of teaching excellence e.g., student evaluations, syllabi, peer observation, annual evaluations, etc.
- A doctoral degree in psychology or related field at the time of hire is required to teach graduate courses
- Specialization in areas like Statistics and Research Methods, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, or other relevant areas within the field
- Experience with learning management systems, such as Canvas
- Evidence of excellent communication skills
