Description
The ASU Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation is seeking benefits-eligible, fixed-term, non-tenure track Instructors to teach in our accelerated baccalaureate nursing programs. Responsibilities include didactic, clinical, and online teaching. Contracts are written for one academic year. Subsequent appointments may be offered, under the same terms and conditions, at the discretion of the university. Salary is contingent upon qualifications and assigned teaching load. Full-time and part-time (minimum .50 FTE) positions available. All roles are benefits eligible.
For clinical teaching positions, preference will be given to candidates with relevant clinical practice experience.

- Meeting Attendance: It is highly encouraged you attend PL Meetings. You are encouraged to attend term specific meetings, town halls and faculty development events
- Scheduled Teaching Days:
Teaching expectations:
- Be present for all class periods/dates you are scheduled to teach
- Respond to students in a timely manner, follow the guideline in course syllabus, college, and University policies
- Provide feedback on assignments in a timely manner, or as indicated in course syllabus
- Arrive prepared to teach each day (role modeling)
Workload expectations:
- Instructors in the Prelicensure Programs are required to maintain a minimum teaching load of 12 credits (80% FTE) and may teach as many as 15 credits (100%).
- Instructors may be considered for course coordination or curriculum development workload if approved by Program Leadership
- Summer teaching is optional and is not required to maintain benefits eligibility
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Current unencumbered RN license or multi-state privilege to practice registered nursing in Arizona.
- Clinical
- Baccalaureate degree with a major in nursing and three years of experience as a R.N. providing direct patient care.
- Didactic
- Graduate degree with a major in nursing and two years of experience as a R.N. providing direct patient care clinical experience; or a graduate degree in a related discipline and a baccalaureate degree with a major in nursing and two years of experience as a R.N. providing direct patient care clinical experience.
Desired Qualifications:
- Prior higher education teaching experience is preferred.
- For clinical - master's degree in Nursing preferred
