The Department of Economics in the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University invites applicants for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor starting Fall 2026.

Essential Functions:

The candidate must conduct research at the highest levels that can be published at the top journals in Economics; teach economics courses at the undergraduate and graduate level; serve as a research mentor to doctoral students; and interact effectively with colleagues through department service to support and enhance the intellectual atmosphere of the deparment.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

1) A PhD in economics or a closely related field; ABD candidates must successfully defend their dissertation by July 1, 2026. 2) A promising and ambitious research agenda.

Desired Qualifications:

1) A strong research agenda in either, Applied Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, or Economic Theory with ideally published or forthcoming papers in premier academic journals
2) Teaching experience
3) Demonstrated knowledge of artificial intelligence through innovative teaching practices, cutting-edge research, and/or though leadership in academic or professional communities.
