Description

The Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation at Arizona State University invites applications for Faculty Associate positions to teach graduate courses in the Doctorate in Regulatory and Clinical Research Management program. Faculty Associates are one-semester, non-benefits-eligible, fixed-term appointments with no tenure implications, not to exceed an average of .40 FTE per semester. The number of courses is contingent upon unit needs, funding, and sufficient enrollment. Salary is based on qualifications and assigned teaching load. Faculty Associates may not hold multiple, non-benefits-eligible appointments at Arizona State University. Responsibilities may include in-person and online teaching.

Faculty Associates are responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, guiding doctoral students, and contributing subject matter expertise in regulatory affairs and clinical research.

Essential Functions:

  • Complete Onboarding & Training: Participate in all required preparation activities before teaching.
  • Teach graduate-level courses related to regulatory frameworks, clinical trial management, quality assurance, biomedical product development, and other topics in regulatory and clinical research management.
  • Develop and deliver course content that aligns with program learning objectives.
  • Manage Canvas Course Shell: Maintain course materials, announcements, and communication within the learning platform.
  • Foster an inclusive, engaging, and rigorous learning environment for multicultural doctoral students.
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback and academic support to students.
  • Support Student Development: Encourage and assist students in their academic, career, and personal growth.
  • Adhere to University, College, and Department policy and procedures including and not limited to student privacy (FERPA), student engagement and support, academic integrity, student code of conduct, and grading policies.
  • Participate in curriculum review and continuous program improvement initiatives as needed.
  • Collaborate with program faculty and leadership to ensure the highest standards of academic integrity and excellence.
  • Maintain current knowledge of evolving regulations, standards, and best practices in regulatory science and clinical research.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Earned a Doctoral degree (PhD, DrPH, PharmD, JD, MD, DHsc, DNP, or equivalent) in regulatory science, clinical research, biomedical sciences, or a related field from an accredited academic institution by the time of appointment.
  • Three years of full-time relevant clinical/professional experience
  • Professional certification if required by discipline
  • Professional licensure if required by discipline
  • Evidence of teaching (university-level or professional training) and contemporary knowledge in the subject area.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 2 years of prior teaching experience.
  • 5 years of experience in the topical area of interest
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, staff, and students.
  • Demonstrated teaching effectiveness.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
