Description

Global Launch at Arizona State University invites applications for Assistant Instructional Professional for Fall 2026, with possible contract for additional sessions, depending on program needs and performance. Assistant Instructional Professionals are full-time instructors who teach on a contractual basis. At the current time, we anticipate hiring new Assistant Instructional Professionals to teach in our various programs, which include non-credit intensive English, academic preparation, and custom courses, taught on campus and online. .

Job Description

The Assistant Instructional Professional’s primary function is to teach across modalities and programs, assist in course development and curriculum projects, and support GL strategic goals.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Plans, organizes and prepares courses, designed to achieve the particular objectives and skills associated with that level, course or program, in person or online
  • Delivers courses in person or online using a variety of engaging teaching strategies/learning activities as well as the designated curriculum or materials
  • Works well with program manager, project lead, department supervisor, and teammates, and external stakeholder
  • Completes administrative tasks with accuracy and reliability, such as attending meetings and submitting grades
  • Assesses students’ demonstrated linguistic competence in order to provide ongoing feedback as well as a final, total grade upon completion of the course or program
  • Assists with programmatic needs such as onboarding, testing, substitution, and activities.
  • Assists with on-going curriculum development and maintenance of curriculum quality, within the parameters of the specific program
  • Shows flexibility and competence across campuses, modalities, and programs
  • Engages regularly in professional development that is applicable to demonstrating a higher level of excellence in position effectiveness and professional growth
  • Models the values and culture of Global Launch

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications (one of the following):

  • MTESOL degree

  • Closely related Master’s degree, such as English, linguistics, and education, with 2 years teaching experience with international students

Desired Qualifications:

  • Two years of experience teaching in programs similar to those in the Global Launch portfolio (intensive English program, Pathways, etc.)
  • Recent coursework or professional development in trends in the field
  • One year’s experience teaching or working abroad
  • One year’s experience with designing digital courses or teaching digitally, both synchronous and asynchronous
