Description
The Department of Marketing in the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University invites applications for a Clinical Assistant or Clinical Associate Professor, full-time, career-track position beginning August 2026.
This faculty position will also be a part of the School of Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (TIE) at ASU’s West Valley campus that has the goal of establishing a deeper relationship with West Valley businesses and other ecosystems. The TIE School is an interdisciplinary unit that supports faculty across a variety of business disciplines at the West Valley campus, and faculty members in this unit will also have a connection with their corresponding unit at the Tempe campus, in this case, the Department of Marketing. Essential Functions:
Contribute to the Department of Marketing and TIE in the areas of teaching and service. Participate in teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses and curriculum development related to general marketing with an emphasis on sports marketing/business, and/or other key topic areas within marketing. Engage in service activities focused on supporting small and medium businesses in the West Valley, assisting with student engagement opportunities, student organizations, Honors theses, and other sports business activities on the West Valley campus in partnership with sports business faculty leadership in the Department of Marketing as well as participating on department/school, W. P. Carey School of Business, and/or University committees. Because this position will be part of the TIE School, the candidate will primarily teach classes on the West Valley campus and online but might also teach on ASU’s Tempe or Downtown campus.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Clinical Assistant Professor – 1) A PhD or DBA in Marketing, Business Administration, Sports Management or related field by appointment start date; 2) Demonstrated potential for teaching excellence at the undergraduate and/or graduate level as evidenced by indicators such as strong communication skills or strong teaching evaluations
Clinical Associate Professor – 1) PhD or DBA in Marketing, Business Administration, Sports Management or related field; 2) The equivalent of 5 years of full-time teaching at an accredited higher education institution; 3) Demonstrated teaching excellence at the undergraduate and/or graduate level as evidenced by indicators such as strong teaching evaluations and communication skills
Desired Qualifications:
1) Demonstrated expertise in sports marketing/business, digital marketing, marketing research, and/or other core topic areas within marketing,
2) Demonstrated knowledge of artificial intelligence through innovative teaching practices, cutting-edge research, and/or thought leadership in academic or professional communities
3) Proven teaching effectiveness in sports business and/or marketing courses, as shown by consistently strong teaching evaluations and/or teaching awards,
4) Established teaching experience across multiple instructional modalities (in-person and online), academic levels (undergraduate and graduate), and course size (large lecture),
5) Sustained scholarly productivity in marketing, as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications, and
6) Demonstrated ability to innovate, collaborate effectively, and engage in inclusive practices.
