Description
Arizona State University, Edson College of Nursing & Health Innovation, is seeking a full-time, benefits-eligible, non-tenure track, 9-month Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor to teach in the Baccalaureate Health Degree Programs. This is an in-person position. Responsibilities may include didactic in-person/Online teaching.
Essential Functions
Instruction and Curriculum Development
- Demonstrates expert knowledge in the field and the ability to transmit and extend that knowledge to students and others through dynamic, stimulating, and creative strategies.
- Demonstrates the ability to develop critical, creative thinkers through continuous planning, analyses, evaluation and revision of courses and workshops.
- Demonstrates current knowledge in the field and sustained effectiveness in teaching in the classroom or in an organizational setting.
- Uses evidence-based teaching practices (e.g., active learning, case-based learning, experiential learning)
- Teaches in a variety of environments, including classroom and distance/online.
- Teaches on multiple ASU campus sites.
- Develops, implements, and evaluates innovative teaching methods.
- Incorporates scholarly and creative activities into teaching.
- Contributes to program development, evaluation, and continuous improvement.
Program & Institutional Service
- Participates in professional service through membership on elected, appointed, and voluntary committees in the college, university, community, and professional organizations that contribute to the Edson College of Nursing & Healthcare Innovation, the individual professional, and to higher education.
- Participates in appointed and voluntary activities that contribute to the college, university, and community.
- Participates in faculty governance of the College and University.
- Participates in the strategic plan of the Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation.
Scholarship & Research
- Engage in scholarly activities related to education or health care innovation.
- Collaborate with colleagues on research projects, presentations, or publications.
- Support student scholarly inquiry in alignment with the Baccalaureate Health Program requirements.
- Incorporates scholarly and creative activities into teaching.
Other Essential Duties
- Ability to quickly change priorities.
- Use critical thinking to make decisions and/or analyze and report data or results.
- Use computers effectively.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Hold an earned graduate degree from a regionally accredited institution by the time of the appointment.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience (practice, teaching, leadership or related experience; or any combination that equals 3 years).
Desired Qualifications:
- Hold an earned Doctoral degree from a regionally accredited institution in nursing, healthcare, or healthcare-related, education, leadership, or other applicable discipline.
- Two years of prior experience teaching in higher education.
- Experience in coordinating courses, degree programs, or campus sites.
- Professional certification in community health, care coordination, case management; or applicable certification
