Description
Arizona State University, Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation, is seeking one or more Assistant Clinical Professionals to teach in its Nursing and Health Programs. These are benefits eligible, non-tenure track, fixed term (9-month) appointments, ranging from part-time to full-time (.50 – 1.0 FTE), depending upon unit needs, available funding, and sufficient enrollment. Responsibilities may include didactic, clinical, lab/experiential/simulation, or distance/online teaching across multiple campus sites. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Essential Functions
Instruction &Curriculum Development
· Demonstrates expert knowledge in the field and the ability to transmit and extend that knowledge to students and others through dynamic, stimulating, and creative strategies.
· Demonstrates the ability to develop critical, creative thinkers through continuous planning, analysis, evaluation, and revision of courses and workshops.
· Demonstrates current knowledge in the field and sustained effectiveness in teaching in the classroom and clinical area.
· Teaches in a variety of environments, which may include classroom, clinical, laboratory (experiential/simulation), or distance/online.
· May teach on multiple campus sites
· Develops, implements, and evaluates innovative teaching methods.
· Prior to teaching a clinical course: Professionals must demonstrate compliance with health and safety requirements of clinical agencies, including background clearance, Department of Public Safety Level 1 Fingerprint clearance, current Basic Life Support Health Care Provider certification, current ACLS (as applicable), immunizations, and drug screening as required per clinical agencies.
Institutional Service
· Participates in voluntary activities that contribute to the college, university, and community.
· Participates in faculty governance of the College and University.
· Participates in the strategic plan of the Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a field applicable to the degree program from a regionally accredited institution by the time of the appointment
- Nursing: Hold an active and unencumbered RN license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Arizona.
- Must provide evidence/ receipt of an Arizona RN license prior to employment.
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching or clinical/professional experience
Desired Qualifications:
- Hold an earned Graduate/Doctoral degree from a regionally accredited institution in nursing, healthcare, or healthcare-related education, leadership, or other applicable discipline.
- Prior experience teaching simulation.
- Prior experience teaching in higher education.
- Prior experience teaching in a nursing program.
