WHAT YOU'LL DO

The FP&A Manager is critical to the finance team and is a key partner for multiple Ascend brands. This role interacts with business leadership to provide insightful analysis and reporting to optimize the financial results of these brands. There is frequent interaction with senior finance executives including the CFO. This role produces important deliverables in support of Board presentations, senior lead team meetings, and other critical Finance and business materials.

WHERE YOU’LL WORK

This position will work a hybrid schedule from our Leawood, KS office location.

HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME

  • Provide critical insight and develop insightful analysis on business trends and strategic initiatives
  • Prepare annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and actual reporting against plan; Drive corrective action planning with business leadership when necessary
  • Develop appropriate reporting/dashboards to provide visibility into trends, pricing performance and other key business KPIs
  • Use balanced scorecard metrics, revenue drivers and other key metrics to model scenarios for the business to mitigate risks and/or capture opportunities
  • Partner closely with sales operations to provide accurate revenue forecasts; work to increase granularity of data driven drivers for market and revenue visibility.
  • Together with business team, identify and drive cost optimization programs. Visibly track progress and ensure targeted results are attained.
  • Partner closely with accounting team on judgment-based accounting and ensuring appropriate business controls are in place
  • Support initiatives targeted at financial processes improvement and the implementation of changes to achieve efficiencies and the company’s objectives

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, business analytics, or other related fields.
  • 7+ years of progressive FP&A experience
  • Strong grasp of finance with very high level of attention to detail and quality
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, track and optimize business reporting metrics
  • Be able to perform a variety of financial activities including planning, analysis, budgeting, and reporting
  • Able to perform accurate, detailed work while also staying focused on interpreting information within a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative in approach and working style / Builds trusts across the organization
  • Strong Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office applications essential; database and data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI or Tableau) a plus
