Job Overview
DUTIES: Develop, test, and certify layer 2, 3, and 4 technologies on multiple vendor hardware and software platforms based on customized or generic design. Identify and define software and hardware problems and develop viable solutions and alternatives. Use system utilities and automation to effectively resolve hardware and software problems. Work closely with hardware and software vendor(s) to identify and fix bugs and perform detail root cause analysis and bug validation in certification lab environment. Provide ongoing support to operation partners. Collaborate with operations to replicate the issue in the lab and actively get involved and work with vendor to fix the production issue. Design, test, and identify issues. Troubleshoot and resolve system hardware and software issues. Install, configure, test, troubleshoot, administer, monitor, and maintain various network operating systems, associated software, virtual management systems, servers, networking, clustering, storage, and software applications for architectures supporting a variety of virtualization technologies. Apply advanced knowledge of IP routing protocols regarding MPLS, BGP, MP-BGP, BGP-LU, BGP-UC, EVPN, Static, OSPF, ISIS, RSVP, Multicast, Vlan, RIP, FIB, L2/L3-VPNs, SNMP, and Telemetry. Utilize networking technologies including TCP/UDP, VxLAN, VPCs, NAT, DNS, QoS, CoS, BGP FlowSpec, VRFs, TACACS, BFD, Security, Netflow, TWAMP, route-reflectors, route groups, Hub and Spoke. Work with virtualized network functions technologies including VNFs, KVM, and VMware. Use containerization platforms including OpenStack, Heat templates, Docker, and Kubernetes. Utilize experience with Linux based lab environments. Use Ansible, Jenkins, InfluxDB, Git, and Jira. Write script using Python, Shell, TCL, Perl, and Selenium automation. Configure IXIA, Spirent, Trex and Ostinato test equipment. Design, test, and implement multi-level network platform technology systems.
REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or two (2) years of experience in a related occupation applying advanced knowledge of IP routing protocols regarding MPLS, BGP, MP-BGP, BGP-LU, BGP-UC, EVPN, Static, OSPF, ISIS, RSVP, Multicast, Vlan, RIP, FIB, L2/L3-VPNs, SNMP, and Telemetry; utilizing networking technologies including TCP/UDP, VxLAN, VPCs, NAT, DNS, QoS, CoS, BGP FlowSpec, VRFs, TACACS, BFD, Security, Netflow, TWAMP, route-reflectors, route groups, Hub and Spoke; working with virtualized network functions technologies including VNFs, KVM, and VMware; using containerization platforms including OpenStack, Heat templates, Docker, and Kubernetes; utilizing experience with Linux based lab environments; using Ansible, Jenkins, InfluxDB, Git, and Jira; writing script using Python, Shell, TCL, Perl, and Selenium automation; and configuring IXIA, Spirent, Trex and Ostinato test equipment.
Our Senior Member of Technical Staffs earn between $171,600 - $257,400 yearly. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
