Overall Purpose: Preparation and review of federal, state and local income tax returns, workpaper, and all related analysis for AT&T and subsidiaries. Responsible for the analysis and interpretation of existing and upcoming tax legislation to identify opportunities to minimize the organization’s legal tax liabilities.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for federal proforma, state and local combined, consolidated, unitary, and separate company returns, and estimated tax payments.
  • Liaise with Research & Planning to ensure tax planning opportunities and transactions are reported accurately in the federal tax return and estimated payments.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations; and maintain accurate and complete records of all tax-related transactions.
  • Identify and support tax technology initiatives in our processes to generate synergies, efficiencies and cost reductions through automation and other streamlining opportunities.
  • Conduct tax research to stay up-to-date with the latest changes in tax laws and regulations and assess the impact on the organization.
  • Works on extremely complex taxation related problems where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangible variance factors.
  • Provide Compliance support for Tax Accounting, Tax Audits, and Research & Planning.

Job Contribution: The successful candidate should possess strong taxtechnical knowledge, analytical skills, attention to detail, problem-solving and communications skills. Proficiency in tax software and other financial management tools such as Excel, Power BI, Alteryx, and Corptax. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. At least four to five years of experience in income tax compliance or related field.

Education: Preferred Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance. CPA and advanced business/tax degree is also preferred.

Work Schedule: Required to work in office on Tuesdays and Thursdays

Our Lead Tax Accountants earn between $94,300.00 - $141,500.00 Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers.
Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
