About the opportunity

The Ellucian Degree Works R&D team is seeking summer interns to contribute to the Planning Reimagined project. We are looking to revolutionize how students plan their coursework enabling them to be more efficient and effective navigating through their academic journey.

Potential candidates should possess a fundamental understanding of front-end and/or back-end web application development. Interns will also have the opportunity to contribute to our existing patterns and

SDK components during their time here at Ellucian. Fresh, new insights and ideas into web application architecture and development are encouraged in a world with ever-changing tech stacks.

Apart from some solid foundations in web application development, we would also like

to see candidates with a strong willingness to learn both on their own and through collaboration with team members. This will build communication skills that will allow you to thrive in your future career paths. As an intern with the Degree Works team, you can expect to work daily with

experienced software engineers, analysts and UX Designers.

Where you will make an impact:

  • Proof of concept projects regarding new technologies, including mobile or expanding technologies already in use by our clients
  • Assist with exploratory projects that are currently in development to research and develop solutions for questions not yet answered
  • This is Full-stack development opportunity. Including data modeling/database, middleware, frontend UI, web-services, and deployment.

What will you bring:

  • Undergraduate student (Junior or rising Senior)
  • Significant coursework in Computer Science or other technical degree program.
  • Top-notch computer programming skills.
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong web development concepts (html, css, javascript)
  • Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Programing
  • Experience on front-end library (React is ideal)
