About the opportunity

The Ellucian Banner General development team is seeking an Analyst intern to contribute to their development efforts for several projects. The Banner General product is the foundational product for the Banner suite, providing shared database and application functionality.

Potential candidates should possess a fundamental understanding of ERP solutions and/or educational systems.  The software projects this team works on are more on the technical vs functional side, so ideal candidates should possess a technical interest and understanding.  Interns will have the opportunity to contribute to our projects through several different actions, from quality assurance, defect replication and evaluation, project requirements definition and task identification. The Banner General product is developed against a few tech stacks, including Oracle and PostGres, deployed OnPrem, SaaS and Hosted.  The product is developed to be accessible and language neutral, so there will be experience to be gained in a variety of testing technologies, including using screen readers, testing translations and testing across several browsers and versions.

We would like to see candidates with a high degree of organization, strong communications and interest in more technical work, with a strong willingness to learn both on their own and through collaboration with team members. This will build communication and analytical skills that will allow you to thrive in your future career paths. As an intern with the Banner General development team, you can expect to work daily with experienced software engineers, analysts, and documentation professionals.

Where you will make an impact:

  • Taking high-level project requirements, validating, understanding and communicating the acceptance criteria and assist the team in defining and breaking down the component tasks.
  • Performing Quality Assurance tasks to validate translations, releases, projects and defect corrections, utilizing accessibility tools, across different technology stacks.
  • Contributing to or proofing documentation materials
  • Working with the team to develop work tasks to complete project components, communicating acceptance criteria and capturing work estimates.
  • Participate in the evolution of DevOps and become a true cloud leader in the market

What will you bring:

  • Undergraduate student (Junior or rising Senior)
  • Significant coursework in Computer Science, Project Management or other relevant degree program, technology-based is a plus.
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
