About the Opportunity

Ellucian is seeking Director of Product Management to join an exciting solutions team focused on higher education student success. Individual should be innovative, hands-on, and driven to delight customers. This person will be tasked with charting the future for several established products focused on key parts of course catalog, class scheduling, term management, grading, academic history, and other parts of the student lifecycle. The Director of Product Management will manage a team of product managers and collaborate with Ellucian R&D, UX, Marketing, and Sales to deliver high-value customer-centric solutions while engaging across Ellucian teams to ensure customer and product success.

Where you will make an impact

  • Conduct customer research and product discovery; synthesize market factors into a cohesive product strategy
  • Own the vision and strategy for assigned solution area
  • Write product themes and initiatives complete with value oriented OKR’s
  • Write epics and stories to support completion of initiatives where appropriate
  • Coach and mentor a team of product managers to successful outcomes
  • Collaborate with customers to understand challenges and opportunities
  • Prioritize development activities to continuously deliver value to customers
  • Work collaboratively with R&D and UX to build roadmaps and plan releases
  • Evangelize for the product area through in-person and virtual presentations and engagements
  • Support sales process with product expertise
  • Collaborate with solution success team, comprised of leaders across all phases of the customer journey, to achieve successful customer adoption, value realization, satisfaction and overall solution health

What you will bring

  • 5+ years experience in Product Management
  • 3+ years experience managing product managers
  • Experience delivering SaaS products, preferably in an enterprise B2B environment
  • Experience with the JTBD framework a huge plus
  • Experience with higher education student success a huge plus
  • Outstanding communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Curious, willing to ask questions and take feedback, and driven to delight customers
  • Outcome-focused with customer value always in mind
  • Ability to simplify complex challenges and technologies into simpler outcomes and stories to drive shared understandings
  • Able to confidently demonstrate products, and influence senior management, and other internal or external stakeholders
  • Experience communicating product vision and decisions across geographically distributed teams
  • Process-oriented decision-maker who relies on data
  • Ability to balance conflicting priorities and work independently
