Business Unit Overview

Loan Management primarily supports the Global Banking & Markets segment within Goldman Sachs. Loan Management, amongst other things, is responsible for directing and facilitating due diligence, portfolio analytics (at both, the deal and asset levels) for the acquisitions, asset management and sales/securitizations of various types of loan portfolios in the US.

Loan Management located in Bengaluru is currently seeking an Associate to support the US mortgage desk. The Associate will be acting as an Asset Manager and be primarily responsible for all Asset Management functions of the Warehouse Lending positions. Functions include portfolio performance monitoring, deal covenant monitoring, reporting, market research and modeling. The AMwill be involved in Pre/Post close discussions with the Trading Desk and Clients to understand the business needs and gather information to perform these Asset Management functions.

Responsibilities

  • Should have working knowledge of structured finance asset classes on both residential and consumer side of business.
  • Managing warehouse facilities and assisting legal and deal teams with negotiation of loan terms and associated documents
  • Managing client relationships and ensuring smooth execution of various warehouse deals
  • Read and interpret governing legal deal documents like offering memorandum, credit agreements etc. with ease.
  • Decoding loan documents and formulating the statements into meaningful Excel Models
  • Ensuring collateral adequacy for funding and other deal related activities
  • Monitoring key financial covenant under deal documents or memorandum and effectively capturing, analyzing, and reporting portfolio trends to different stakeholders in the dealflow
  • Ensure the flow of data underneath all the analytics is accurate and correct. Working with mortgage desk, technology, and cash operations to achieve the same.
  • Should be self-motivated, possess keen analytical skills and should have ability to effectively interact with trading desk/stakeholders.
  • Involvement in ad hoc /special projects which support process improvement and implementation of technology initiatives.
  • Develop reporting solutions through multiple tools as needed. Ability to produce interactive graphs, pivot tables, etc. for reporting.
  • Maintains systems for tracking projects and communicate results to different business groups.

Basic Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in Mortgages or Consumer Portfolio / Collateral Analytics / Asset Management.
  • Strong academic background –Finance, business, accounting degree with a minimum 3.5 GPA equivalent
  • Strong communication skills (clear, concise, and confident) with the ability to manage internal and external relationships.
  • Solid analytical/logical mindset and attention to detail
  • Technical skills required include SQL, RDBMS Databases (SQL Server or Sybase ASE preferred), Data Reporting and Data Visualizations. Alteryx, CAS, and Tableau experience is a plus.
  • StrongprojectmanagementskillsthatincludeStakeholderManagementskills,portfoliomanagement experience and ability to translate requirements to deliverables.
  • Commercial focus and interest in financial and RE markets
  • Mortgage banking or other financial industry experience preferred.
  • Able to work under tight time constraints and extended hours as required.
  • Ability to prioritize workload, manage expectations and is a team player.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting team goals/objectives.
