GS Growth seeks to partner with visionary founders and CEOs to build enduring, category-defining businesses by harnessing the global network and deep industry expertise of Goldman Sachs. As part of the Goldman Sachs Asset Management Division, GS Growth is the dedicated growth equity team within Goldman Sachs. We are a global team across 9 offices in 7 countries, with $10bn of AUM and a 25+ year investing history of partnering with management teams to execute long-term growth plan

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

GS Growth is currently seeking Analyst/Associate. Individual will be required to play an integral role in critical elements of the investing and investment management processes. Responsibilities will include:

Sourcing

- Understand software business models, KPIs and financial statements.

- Collaborate with regional teams in sourcing, screening, and evaluating investment opportunities in relevant private growthstage companies.

- Conduct market research to identify actionable themes and targets that could fit GS Growth investment mandate.

- Actively develop top-of-funnel pipeline by generating market maps, conducting primary research, and initiating outbounds

Deal Evaluation and Execution

- Demonstrate sound knowledge of SaaS based performance drivers / KPIs.

- Build and synthesize key analysis using data received during business diligence phase, including historical growth and margins, core operational KPIs, unit economics, cohort retention and evolution, financial projections, and returns to GS and investors.

- Coordinate across various internal teams and third-party diligence vendors to facilitate completion of respective diligence and execution workflows.

- Draft sections of the internal investment memos detailing the business and investment opportunity & investment diligence.

- Participate in Investment Committee meetings seeking approval of investment opportunity.

Portfolio Management

- Track financial updates from portfolio companies for periodic investment monitoring, including but not limited to analyzing company performance drivers, comparing actual v/s projected quarterly results, comparisons to public / private peers’ performance, strategic decisions on hold / exit and valuation recommendations.

- Track portfolio companies’ unit economics, business performance, market changes, financials and look for opportunities to drive value creation.

- Drive follow-on / exit transactions with support on investment analysis and other deal execution workflows

- Initiate/support strategic projects related to process automations of portfolio monitoring, and tracking activities.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

- Minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience.

- Experience in similar roles such as Venture Capital, Private equity, Investment banking, Equity research, is preferred.

- Strong academic background with an MBA in Finance or CA or CFA or equivalent.

- Analytical, critical thinking, and writing / presentation skills with a keen eye for detail.

- Team player with a commitment to excellence, integrity, and collaboration; must be able to work well with various stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
