YOUR IMPACT:
FICC Securities Settlements is looking for an energetic, analytical, highly motivated individual to join a fast-paced team that is tasked with timely settlement and inventory management of fixed income securities transactions across a variety of major financial markets.
In this role, you will be expected to use your skills to help manage and reduce risk, enhance client service, and improve processes. Through the execution of these duties, you will develop an in-depth understanding of securities settlements and the financial services industry.

Global Markets Operations is a dynamic, multi-faceted organization that partners with teams across the firm to deliver banking, sales and trading and asset management capabilities to clients around the world. In addition, we provide essential risk management and closely monitor key controls to preserve and enhance the firm’s assets and its reputation. For every trade agreed, every new product launched or market entered, every transaction completed, Operations is tasked with developing processes and controls that help business flow.
FICC Settlements works closely with firm’s Short Term Interest Rate desk and provides support to Fixed Income Securities, Margin Collateral, Prime Brokerage, Private Wealth Management, Repo, and Stock Loan teams. FICC Settlements also partners with Corporate Treasury, Client Assets, and Controllers to meet firm’s funding needs, protect client assets, and maintain books and records.
Principal responsibilities:
- Ensure fixed income trades are settled accurately and on time with minimal exceptions
- Work to reduce fails rates by improving existing team procedures regarding inventory and exception management
- Maintain compliance with client asset and settlement rules and regulations
- Assist in managing and prioritizing inventory to maximize funding benefits and minimize operational costs
- Document process flows and create or enhance detailed procedures for any functions performed
- Research and troubleshoot exceptions. Enhance inefficiencies via procedural changes or automation
- Understanding of the risk associated with process and escalating issues of concern to team managers and senior management
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
• Relevant experience in an operational management position or similar role with a proven track record for managing multiple processes, functions and driving change
• Strong communication skills. Essential for interacting with all levels of seniority and across business disciplines and regions
• Strong influencing skills essential. Capable of assertively interacting with business stakeholders and counterparts in order to resolve day to day issues, control risks and improve operational efficiency
• Strong problem solving skills/ability to hold clear and concise conversations with internal and external business partners
• Analytical/critical thinking to develop new processes and re-engineer current processes to meet changing needs of the business
• Highly organized individual with attention to detail and excellent ability to execute on deliverables
• Experience in working with business and technology partners to develop functional specifications to address complex business needs
• Leader who works effectively in a team setting and is creative about providing innovative solutions (new processes, technologies and approaches)
