For every new product launched and every trade executed, it is Operations that develops and manages the processes and controls that enable business flow.

Our GSAM Retail SMA Oversight team is seeking a professional who is looking to partner with our diversified client base and global business counterparts to provide best-in class client experience to define solutions and lead change across the operational infrastructure.

OUR IMPACT

The GSAM Retail SMA Oversight team sits within the Asset Management Segment and has primary responsibility of client’s portfolio account event, funding (inflows, outflows and transfers) position and cash management, risk management and innovative solutions, and serves as the single point of contract for all operations related client inquiries. Functions cover a wide range of clients and a complex product range, which includes equities, fixed income. The group supports portfolio managers, sales and trading and client relationship professionals by providing accurate and timely client account information and overseeing all aspects of operational risk across portfolios.

JOB SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a highly technical role and as such requires the capability to work effectively with a diverse range of professionals both internally and externally, covering a wide variety of products and functions to solve for operational efficiency. The main areas of responsibility will be:

  • As part of this role, the associate will partner with the Asset Management and Consumer Wealth (CWM) teams to create and facilitate the operational design of a strategic platform to support the Retail Separately Managed Account (SMA).
  • Involve in day-to-day BAU activities (funding, onboarding & review of exceptions for Retail SMA accounts)
  • Understand the daily BAU activities, Identify and suggest controls and perform oversight activities
  • Leverage business intelligence tools and information systems to create new tools and workflows while ensuring accounting data accuracy and provide account policy oversight to create a controlled environment for investment management processes
  • Create daily SLA metrics and forecasting across our main business to track and monitor our KPIs and KRIs
  • Scalability analysis of workflow cost drivers and trends to help drive process improvements and efficiency
  • Coordinate across portfolio managers on cash funding, withdrawals, trading requests and account attribute changes
  • Process and control analysis to ensure effective oversight and risk management

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in Operations and/or Financial Services Industry, preferably in Asset management
  • Extensive understanding of the product lifecycle and user experience for the distribution of Fixed Income, Equity, and other similar financial products on a digital platform
  • Practical and technical knowledge of fund accounting
  • Understanding of accounting impact across different types of lifecycle events
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and proficient in PowerPoint, Word, and other MS Office Suites
  • Be highly collaborative, team-oriented, and strong consensus builder
  • Proven excellence in risk management and focus
  • Ability to partner across product groups, regions, and functional responsibilities
  • Ability to effectively communicate across all levels, both written and oral
  • High attention to detail with a sense of urgency a must
  • Bachelor’s degree required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experienced in partnering and managing teams during high growth phases
  • Strategic and creative thinker, with strong facilitation and data gathering skills, able to recommend tactical and long-term solutions
  • Ability to drive projects & daily BAU through execution with minimal oversight
  • Understanding of Taxlot accounting and hands on experience on accounting systems like Invest1, APL and Geneva
  • Technically adept in working with Business Intelligence and low code tools such as Alteryx, Tableau and Robotics Processing Automation (RPA)
