Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of experience in engineering and technical leadership.
  • Experience as a technical leader, influencing multiple teams of engineers while partnering across the organization on development initiatives.
  • Experience creating roadmaps for execution, including timelines and projected engineering resources.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with building a search engine/ML platform.
  • Experience with ideation and innovating technology at scale, while motivating others to act by creating a shared sense of vision and purpose.
  • Ability to understand technical concepts and complex interdependencies of a large-scale infrastructure.
  • Ability to take an entrepreneurial and strategic approach while working within an ambiguous environment.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $271,000-$399,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Provide technical vision and strategy for the team, design and lead a multi-year technical roadmap, managing short- and long-term technology investments.
  • Partner closely with Product Management, UX, and other Google Engineering teams to create, drive, and deliver an innovative, compelling, and user-friendly experience to customers.
  • Build and lead an engineering team to innovate, invent, implement, and deploy complex software solutions in a commercial, mission-critical environment.
  • Unlock roadblocks at corporate level and cultivate collaboration with executive technologists across Google through leadership, creativity, intelligence, and presence.
  • Work with product, design, and other engineering leads to define strategy and priorities.
