Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in project/program management (leading cross-functional projects/programs).
  • 5 years of experience in a leadership role(s) with or without direct reports.
  • Experience in mobile device testing.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Understanding of mobile device OEMs and suppliers.
  • Understanding of the Android Platform and Google Infrastructure in testing, release, and build.
  • Ability to convert insights to product-side impacts.
  • Excellent storytelling skills.

About the job

The Pixel Test Engineer (PTE) Organization is responsible for the end-to-end integration testing of Pixel devices within the Google ecosystem. In this role, you will help manage and improve our device software test programs and other horizontal programs to elevate and accelerate mobile testing, and be the gatekeeper for device quality. You will work on a combination of strategic initiatives and tactical details. They are large-scale complex programs with cross-functional teams across multiple Prodcut Areas or BUs (DSPA, P&E, Nest, Fitbit, Assistant, etc.). You will have the opportunity to influence leadership decision making and the quality of company-OKR-level flagship products.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $164,000-$252,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Execute and operate through device software testing program life cycles and post-launch cadences to drive excellence and scale.
  • Be able to translate between business requirements and technical requirements, and keep engaged teams aligned.
  • Build strategic alliances with cross-functional stakeholders and teams in multiple locations (US, APAC, EMEA) to plan, prioritize, design and align on objectives, success criteria, schedule, dependencies. Adjust levers (e.g., schedule, staffing, features, etc.) to manage expectation and changes, mitigate risk, remove blockers, drive issue resolution, and deliver results on time in high quality.
  • Triangulate input from various sources (test results, software launch criteria, user sentiments) to create cohesive stories, advocate product quality, and communicate to stakeholders through various formats and channels.
  • Identify gaps or opportunities and implement solutions to optimize portfolio, fill gaps, and maximize organizational benefits to improve business outcome.
