Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of experience in the software engineering, hardware engineering, or supply chain domains.
  • 5 years of experience leading teams within technical program management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with large scale, distributed infrastructure, in a public/private cloud context.
  • Understanding of the relationship between the organization and its environment, with the ability to identify connections, adopt different perspectives, and respond to changing circumstances in a strategic way.
  • Ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries, build relationships, and manage talent and ideas to achieve a broader organizational goal.
  • Ability to work within changing specifications or standards, and create a collaborative team environment while working in ambiguity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

About the job

The YouTube Infrastructure team provides reliable, scalable, and performant experiences for YouTube’s users. The team is responsible for overall resource management and video infrastructure, leveraging Google’s immense technical infrastructure in compute, networking, and storage. The goal is to provide high quality experience to viewers, no matter the device or location, while reducing overall costs.

As Director, Technical Program Management, YouTube Resource Management, you will lead YouTube’s resource management, responsible for YouTube’s infrastructure budget, planning, and execution. You will be responsible for understanding how effectively YouTube uses its budget to deliver its products and features around the world. You will also be responsible for managing and forecasting the supply chain necessary to enable YouTube’s infrastructure.

In this role, you will be a partner to engineering leads across YouTube, driving strategy to build products most effectively on the compute, storage, and network infrastructure, including scaling machine learning hardware accelerator fleet in concert with software engineering teams.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $246,000-$361,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Set vision and execution of organizational direction for broad, cross-organization budgets, planning, and projects for YouTube.
  • Partner with executive leadership engineering and product managers to ensure alignment with engineering and product priorities.
  • Lead and inspire an organization of technical program managers, with a goal of driving alignment among software, hardware, and supply chain partner organizations spanning YouTube and Google.
  • Build a scalable and growth-oriented Technical Program Management organization across multiple locations.
