Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in Technical Program Management or Program Management for software development or a related domain.
  • Experience with mobile app development and associated engineering practices and processes.
  • Experience working with distributed teams across multiple time zones and geographies.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Relevant industry certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
  • Experience working in health, consumer electronics, and/or devices and services technologies, as well as working in privacy, compliance, and/or similar domains.
  • Experience driving programs and initiatives that have brought about change in product and engineering teams within large organizations.
  • Familiarity with hardware and software development cycles and processes.
  • Ability to solve ambiguous problems and work independently.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills to be able to explain complicated topics and ideas in a clear and concise manner.

About the job

As a Fitbit Technical Program Manager working with the Fitbit Mental Wellbeing team, you will have the opportunity to help build and grow an ecosystem of health apps and services in a highly cross-functional role, whilst also joining a rapidly growing team and organization within Google.

In this role you will lead the execution of critical engineering projects and programs impacting our users and developers, partnering with our cross-functional counterparts to plan, execute, and deliver across Fitbit. You will need to manage multiple competing priorities and projects simultaneously, whilst also ensuring a focus on key milestones and maintaining a high quality bar.

You will also be responsible for identifying, owning, managing, and improving various processes across the team and the wider organization, striving to drive efficiencies and improve quality wherever possible.

Responsibilities

  • Be a trusted operational leader on the Fitbit Mobile Apps team, along with your cross-functional partners in Product Management, Engineering, Research, Design, User Experience, Clinical, Regulatory, Partnerships, Customer Support, and Marketing.
  • Manage multiple interdependent projects of moderate to high complexity and scope, anticipating risks and dependencies.
  • Drive product development efforts, organizing the team to hit roadmap goals, tracking progress, analyzing risks, driving and documenting decisions, and communicating status.
  • Identify and solve cross-functional and inter-team challenges, collaborating with several other Fitbit Engineering and Research teams and Fitbit.
  • Help the team work as a high-performing team in a culture of trust and respect.
