Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of experience in electronics/computer consumer hardware.
- Experience in supply chain management, materials program management, and procurement.
- Ability to speak and write in English and Mandarin fluently.
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in operations/supply chain, sourcing/commodity management, contract manufacturing or program management.
- Experience building cost models, analyzing cost trends, and assessing opportunities and risk for new or early-stage product development.
- Experience in hardware development lifecycle.
- Experience with spreadsheet or Google Sheets.
- Knowledge of electronic-mechanical modules, especially PCB and FPC/A.

Commodity Managers work with Engineering teams to make sure Google has the supplies and equipment to put into production the innovative products coming from our Engineering teams. As a Commodity Manager, you use your wide industry knowledge and strategic supplier relationships to optimize our total cost of ownership for our global -- and growing -- infrastructure. The scale at which Google operates means that savings on just one piece of hardware can have a huge impact on Google's bottom line.
In this role, you will serve as the single point of contact for all activities relating to the device level cost tracking, analysis and reporting. Additionally, you will be responsible for coordinating and driving cross- functional efforts to make sure that products progress through development and into mass production. You will work closely with the Suppliers, Finance and Operations team. You will lead and will be responsible for advocating and delivering financially health products. You will also be responsible for communicating status, trajectory and goals to all internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities
- Serve as the Product Cost Manager for cost assigned product family and deliver financially health products.
- Utilize industry knowledge, analytics, data and other inputs to identify cost inefficiencies and opportunities to identify realistic and cost goals.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to identify negotiation, design, feature and operational cost opportunities and track through to execution.
- Deliver effective presentations of findings and recommendations to multiple levels of leadership, creating visual displays of quantitative cost information, Iteratively build and prototype dashboards to provide insights at scale.
- Work with a cross-functional team to identify and mitigate supply chain risk, drive material, cost and process opportunities.
