Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, including but not limited to Java or Kotlin.
  • 3 years of experience in Android mobile app development.
  • 3 years of experience overseeing projects in a technical leadership role, including 2 years in people management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in working in a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Experience working with cross-functional area leads.
  • Experience in software architecture design.
  • Experience working on fast growing products.
  • Passion and experience building user-facing products.

    The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage a team of software engineers designing and building Android applications, and application server components.
    • Lead innovative camera AI feature development, and architect technical solutions on Pixel devices.
    • Lead design reviews with stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
    • Collaborate closely with partner teams such as Research, Product Management, Hardware Development and Optimization, Testing, etc. in the whole application development cycle.
    • Maintain a high quality performance and reliability bar for the application services and components to ensure product excellence.
