Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of experience in the content production, distribution, or digital marketplace.
  • Experience in people management.
  • Ability to speak and write in English and Japanese fluently.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience engaging with customers or partners in the government, healthcare, education, or news industries.
  • Experience building digital complex media rights agreements.
  • Experience working with broadcasters, creators, and enterprise partners, crafting forward looking agreements that have annual business generation and high growth.
  • Ability to interpret legal documents and work with attorneys to discuss complete agreements.
  • Ability to learn technological concepts, financial models, and product features.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

About the job

As the Head of Responsibility Partnerships, you will be responsible for driving YouTube’s content objectives aligned with Responsibility across Japan. You will effectively inspire, educate, and align with content partners so they have an understanding of how YouTube’s tools and platforms can drive their business both from a viewership and business generation point of view. You will manage existing partnerships, secure, and launch new relationships and broadly drive business growth objectives. You will also perform the role of a cross-functional lead for the YouTube Product and Business across the markets. This includes driving new business opportunities, anticipating and resolving complex business issues, and tracking against metrics to recommend and execute our vertical content strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of business development and account management professionals responsible for driving business relationships with media companies and YouTube creators aligned with Responsibility across Japan.
  • Be in a leadership role, defining content objectives and driving alignment across Marketing, Operations, Sales, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Provide strategic insight and understanding and leadership for region specific challenges and opportunities.
  • Advocate internally across the organization on behalf of the partners across the markets. Develop and recommend business strategies working closely with cross-functional teams at Google and YouTube.
  • Partner with the country manager, the Sales leadership team, and other executive stakeholders (e.g., Marketing) in the country and region to help advocate the YouTube product, content, and user stories.
