Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience
- Experience with at one of the following: polymer, metallic, brittle, and elastomeric material behavior
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's or PhD degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering
- Experience with Moldflow simulation for injection molding and with modeling adhesives in dynamic events
- Experience with Granta and building non-linear material models
- Experience with fatigue analysis with an understanding of process design for material property
- Understanding structural and dynamic modeling with Ansys, Abaqus, Comsol or equivalent FEA simulation software
- Understanding material structural performance and properties, material testing, and characterization methods

The Material Science and Engineering team is a critical member of a global multidisciplinary team that interfaces with Industrial Design, Product Design, Product Integrity, Operations, and our manufacturing partners, responsible for delivering highly impactful research and development of materials to deliver breakthrough experiences and sustainability for our products.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with Material Science and Engineering (MSE) team to develop predictive methods to determine expected performance of new and unique materials.
- Research methods for modeling dynamic material processing (e.g., injection molding and aluminum extrusion).
- Partner with product design to develop predictive models to understand material performance in real world applications.
- Define test data requirements to improve material models, including accelerometer and strain gauge measurement techniques.
