Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
- JD degree.
- 7 years of experience in strategically addressing, minimizing, and avoiding risk in products and how they are built.
- Experience managing projects and partnering with cross-functional teams.
- Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state of hire.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience developing, evaluating, and maintaining programs that ensure products comply with laws, regulations, and external commitments.
- Experience with high risk incident response.
- Experience working with technology companies, with the ability to understand technical issues.
- Knowledge of the privacy and data security regulatory landscape and how those laws and regulations impact internet services.
- Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to be action-oriented and meet the highest standards of integrity.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, time management, problem solving, and investigative skills.
About the job
Alphabet’s Regulatory Response, Investigations and Strategy team (ARRIS) addresses high-risk issues that involve regulatory scrutiny, enforcement actions, and other proceedings like shareholder litigation, internal investigations, and data incidents, as well as other emerging risks across Alphabet and globally.
Responsibilities
- Identify potential or emerging internal and external risk pertaining to the way we build our products to serve the needs and maintain the trust of our users.
- Evaluate the risks to determine which are likely to materialize and to identify strategic ways to mitigate those risks.
- Undertake and strategically manage projects to address risk and increase Alphabet’s resilience to risk, including proactive compliance measures.
