Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in Distributed Systems, API Development.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform or other similar cloud technologies.
  • Experience in People management including managing a team, achieving big, having well-defined goals, and working with distributed team members.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience architecting and developing large scale distributed cloud systems.
  • Experience in network management systems or network operations.
  • Experience in mentoring and coaching team members with people management skills.
  • Experience in technical leadership, leading project teams and setting technical direction.
  • Proficiency in Coding (Python, Go, C/C++ or Java).

Google Enterprise Network (GEN) is responsible to manage, run and scale this network while ensuring that we build it with the latest technologies needed to run Google.

In this role, you will lead a team of SWEs responsible for the systems that automate the management of the network.You will play a key role in bringing a new model for enterprise networking to the market that is more secure and has much greater development velocity than traditional networking solutions.You will develop a set of products to accomplish the goal of safer, better, faster, and cheaper networks.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the team technically by contributing to defining the new architecture of a systems that automate the management of NextGEN network systems
  • Prioritize teams deliverables to ensure smooth, quality and timely execution of deliverables.
  • Work with Partner teams to understand their requirements and build systems that ensure that changes are correctly applied to the network.
  • Proactively anticipate scaling bottlenecks or shifts in usage, increase availability and reliability, or make data-driven optimizations and adjustments.
  • Own significant portions of the design of systems including authoring and presenting design specifications
