Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with software development in C/C++ and embedded real-time operating system (RTOS).
  • 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
  • Experience in 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) AS protocols.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • 10 years of experience with 3G, LTE, or 5G NR protocol development.
  • Experience with the modem development process.
  • Experience in 3GPP LTE/NR PDCP/RLC/MAC protocol and its development.
  • Ability to manage multiple changes and priorities during the development phase.

About the job

In this role, you'll focus on development, integration, customization, and performance enhancement of modem Autonomous System (AS) features on Android devices, working with Pixel software teams, original equipment manufacturers (OEM), and vendors. You will develop and enhance the modem protocol stack at certain modules, validate the enhancement through unit test and module tests, and resolve the issues from certification, field testing, and customers.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $139,000-$208,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Develop Modem data-path enhancement features to improve user experience.
  • Analyze, debug, and fix Modem protocol issues from the testing team, certification lab, and customers.
  • Work and design with the Global Carriers Engineering team to meet customer’s performance and feature requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-layer teams.
