Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience working in optoelectronic test hardware and software development, or 5 years of experience with an advanced degree.
  • 5 years of experience in technical leadership in managerial capacity.

Preferred qualifications:

  • PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or an equivalent fieldg
  • 10 years of experience in opto-electronic test development.
  • Experience in microLED and display systems testing.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a highly cross-functional opto-electronic development environment.
  • Familiarity with best-practices in test and device calibration, computer vision systems, guarded and low-noise electrical measurements.
  • Proficiency in test software development including familiarity with Labview, SQL, C#, Python.

As a Hardware Engineer, you design and build the systems that are the heart of the world's largest and most powerful computing infrastructure. You develop from the lowest levels of circuit design to large system design and see those systems all the way through to high volume manufacturing. Your work has the potential to shape the machinery that goes into our cutting-edge data centers affecting millions of Google users.

Pulling on your technical and leadership expertise, you lead end-to-end research projects in multiple areas of expertise across data center facilities and manage a team of direct reports working on equipment installation, troubleshooting and debugging.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $208,000-$306,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Build and lead test development team with responsibilities for developing and improving new opto-electronic test capabilities as needed to support uLED display products.
  • Develop methods and algorithms for characterizing unique device structures that may exhibit novel optoelectronic properties.
  • Working effectively with manufacturing, research and development, and device leaders and engineers to find innovative solutions to technical measurement challenges.
  • Drive improvements and innovation in the Test area to achieve company’s product and test objectives.
  • Refine, collect, summarize, and report out operational metrics for Test area as well as driving hardware and software modifications to prevent and mitigate issues.
