Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a specialized field (e.g., Optics, Sensors, Audio/DSP, etc.), or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience working in human vision science.
- Experience in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB) and using vision science toolbox (e.g., Psychtoolbox for MATLAB).
- Experience in design and execution of psychophysical studies.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field (e.g., Optics, Sensors, Audio/DSP).
- Experience evaluating visual discomfort or perceived image quality in AR/VR.
- Experience conducting research with human participants in the industry.
- Experience with programming in Unity.

The Human Vision and Systems Integration team bridges human vision science and Extended Reality (XR) technology to seamlessly integrate XR devices with human vision. We inform engineering and product management regarding perceived image quality and visual comfort in AR, and we collect insights through rigorous experiments with human participants, computational models of human perception, and experiential demonstrators. We translate the insights to system level trade-offs, technical guidelines and technical solutions.

We're focused on making immersive computing accessible to billions of people through mobile devices, and our scope continues to grow and evolve.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $122,000-$178,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Conduct research on human visual perception in the context of Augmented Reality (AR).
- Design and execute studies with human participants, collect data, and analyze results.
- Contribute to the development of AR prototypes by providing insights and recommendations based on research findings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including optical engineers, software developers, and UX designers, to integrate research findings into product development.
- Stay up- to-date in the latest advancements in human vision science and AR technology.
