Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience working in a privacy related field (e.g., security engineering, data engineering, data scientist, compliance engineering etc.).
  • 1 year of experience designing solutions for technological problems that maintain the privacy posture of the organization, leading teams across multiple workstreams.
  • 1 year of experience leading the application of privacy technologies (e.g., differential privacy, automated access management solutions, etc.) to solve technical and data management problems, customizing existing solutions and frameworks to meet user needs.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience supporting product launches or familiarity with product launch lifecycle.
  • Experience driving changes across multiple business units with engaging priorities.
  • Experience in development of Machine Learning models and applications.
  • Knowledge of common regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).

The Governance team manages risk and compliance objectives, specifically risks about data, products, and software systems within Google. Our aim is to ensure that systems, products, and data are managed responsibly to keep our users, employees, and partners safe.

Google's innovations in AI, especially Generative AI, have created a new and exciting domain with immense potential. As innovation moves forward, Google and the broader industry need increased privacy, safety, and security standards for building and deploying AI responsibly.

To help meet this need, the Generative AI Assessments team's mission is to build up Google's assessment capabilities for generative AI applications.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct technical and quantitative analysis to drive scalable, efficient, and data-driven privacy decision-making.
  • Design, architect, and lead implementation of privacy-enhancing solutions alongside engineering teams.
  • Conduct privacy impact assessment of a single product component, and determine how to bridge between data regulations, governance and practical engineering practices, policy practices.
  • Develop, maintain and publish design or technical documentation to drive consistency in privacy decisions and practices.
